About the CCBH

The Centre for Contemporary British History (CCBH) is one of the three research centres of the Institute of Historical Research, University of London. It has developed out of the Institute of Contemporary British History which was founded in 1986 to promote the study of recent past. It has close relationships with similar Centres and Institutes in other countries. CCBH hosts a regular programme of conferences, lectures and seminars and supervises postgraduate teaching and training, including an MA in Contemporary British History, PhD supervision and training courses in oral history open to researchers at any level. It manages research projects, including the collection of oral testimony for the use of present and future historians.
